Ojika-cho and the Nozaki Island have been engaged in and providing a variety of eco-friendly activities. Your understanding and cooperation are highly appreciated.

Nozaki Island environmental preservation funds
A part of accommodation charge at Nozaki Island nature-learning village is used for research, conservation and preservation of the environment and cultural properties by Ojika-cho.

Eco-friendly amenity supplies
Most amenity supplies provided at the nature-learning village are made with eco-friendly materials.
 
Beach cleanup efforts
Local beach cleanup efforts have been done regularly by many groups and organized volunteers.
 
Environmental preservation activities by corporate enterprises
アサヒビール広告The environmental preservation at the island also have been made possible by donations and helps from many business enterprises.

(e.g.) Asahi Breweries, Ltd. "Asahi Super-Dry Nozaki Island environmental preservation project"
Asahi Breweries donated 1 yen per each 500ml/350ml can of "Asahi Super-Dry" sold in Nagasaki prefecture during a period from 2008/12/15 to 2009/12/14 to Ojika-cho government. The donated money has been used for the environment preservation projects of Nozaki Island.


Nagasaki prefecture's "Ordinance to preserve environment for the future" is effective on the Nozaki Island.
Due to this ordinate, littering has been prohibited on the island since October 1 2008. Some penal regulations have been introduced for violators since April 1 2009.

"Act for the Promotion of Eco-tourism"
The "Act for the Promotion of Eco-tourism" was passed at the Upper House plenary session on June 20 2007. Ojika-cho is planning to form Eco-tourism council due to the act. The council aims to achieve sustainable eco-tourism in a fine balance with environmental preservation of Ojika-cho area including the Nozaki Island.
